Memories

This is 100 percent personal nostalgia. I was going through some books I haven't looked at in a long time and found a paper where I scratched down some things my first parrot "Spanky" (a blue fronted amazon) would say:

I was working in the kitchen listening to Spanky in the other room talking saying in a nice voice "good bird", "hello".

We had a game where I would touch his beak or foot and say "it's a foot" or "it's a beak".

Spanky would say "Hallelujah" and would recite the first part of the alphabet A, B, C, ... then jump to Q. He particularly liked the sound of "Q".

When the garbage truck showed up with all of its noise, he would extend his wings "like a helicopter" and be fully alert. He did the same when noisy cars drove by.

He would chatter away imitating human conversations, saying "Oh', "Uh-huh" along with lots of unrecognizable sounds.

When the phone rang he would "answer" saying hello. This was in the days of wired phones that rang.
