Duffle bags

Duffle or duffel? Both are now acceptable in English. The word was originally "Duffel" from the town of Duffel, Belgium where the fabric was originally made.

I decided to buy a mid-sized duffel in May of 2025. There are endless items available, and of course we are skeptical of those selling for $20.

I ended up buying a Condor Centurion. I found it on LA Police gear, then found a tan colored one on sale on Amazon (and I get free shipping), so I ordered from Amazon (sorry, LAPG). Dimensions are 10x9x30 and they rate the volume at 30L (1800 cubic inches). Price was $62.

I really wanted the simplest possible bag, well made. This has "hide-away" shoulder straps and two small zippered pockets.

The "military style" is 24x12x12, which is a good size, and no frills. Looks like a good item, with good reviews. It is simple, just one big bag with a single zipper, no frills, side compartments, or any of that. The price is right too, so I ordered one. It is better than I expected! The material is a heavy "waxed" canvas, sewing looks great. Seams are taped inside. The zipper it a burly YKK. A nice item at a great price.

The name "tactical gym bag" just sounds funny. 21x11x10 and five colors available.
